Summary
How the use of OpenID-based account registration and login techniques creates a false sense of online trust.
Description
The use of OpenID-based technologies to simplify user access to sites can seem like a great, simple way to get the crowd to log into your site but the reality is that doing so is the first link in a broken chain of online trust. It’s a problem because the entire premise of using “Register using Facebook, “Login using Twitter” or similar access points is based on the assumption that the source interface provides a basis for trust. This couldn't be further from the truth.
