Because of the limited traditional financing alternatives available, Invested Central began exploring other options. After reading an article on a major financial site discussing crowdfunding, Invested Central President John Hopkins and his team decided that their best possible option would be to go to the members of Invested Central, many of whom had been with the company since it was established in 2004. So on a quiet Thursday afternoon in late April, they sent an initial email to their most loyal members and held their breath as they waited for the first reply.
