Description
Local Motors has been a pioneer in open-source/crowdsourced automotive design. Members vote on each others’ design ideas, and the most popular are built into one-of-a-kind vehicles produced at the company’s micro factories.
Solid Edge Design1 was created exclusively for Local Motors members (the two companies formed a partnership late last year), and is available by subscription in a node-locked configuration for those involved in Local Motors projects.
The contest kicked off on March 8, and the submission deadline is April 9, 2012.
