New Crowd Funding Website Offers Fast Track for Upcoming Small Businesses, Charitable Ventures, and Creative Arts Projects
Australia s small business sector, charitable programs, and creative arts projects are set to receive a major boost with Australia s most comprehensive Crowd Funding Platform, iPledg, which recently launched in January. The purpose of iPledg is to facilitate the raising of seed funds required to turn ideas and concepts into reality, encompasses the four key funding areas commercial, creative, community, and the charitable. iPledg is the only site in the world to do all four. The current economic climate is favourable to a concept of this nature where the traditional funding institutions are tightening their lending and credit policies, and as a result start up ventures are suffering, said Marketing Director Bryan Vadas. Crowd funding is essentially the raising of monies from the crowd (local communities, friends, family, fans etc) in the form of pledges. iPledg s crowd funding platform provides entrepreneurs, those in the creative arena (films, arts, music, etc) and aspiring charitable and community programs with an avenue to test their concepts and ideas with minimal financial risk to themselves and at the same time providing social proof for the concept. Despite some scepticism regarding the Australian culture for pledging or donating there was almost universal recognition that this concept could significantly help smaller entrepreneurs and groups to get their ideas off the ground, Mr Vadas said. Project creators simply log onto ipledg.com and upload the details of their project along with the amount of funding they are seeking and the timeframe in which they aim to secure the money. Project funders can then search by sector (Commercial, charitable / Community, or Creative / Arts) and read a little about each project before deciding to which ones they would like to pledge. Crowd Funding is growing exponentially as a successful source of funding in the Europe, America, Africa, and the USA (where the US Senate and the SEC are increasing their support for crowd funding as a
mechanism to achieve small business growth and boost job creation). Importantly, a pledge is not an investment, so is not bound or encumbered by traditional legislation around funding and investments. iPledg is currently waiving to listing fee to make raising funds through crowd funding even more cost effective. To register a project, or to find out more, visit www.ipledg.com We are very much setting iPledg up as a company everyone wants to do business with, everyone would like to work for, and one that astute investors would like to own.
