To fund the idea, Engaged Campus founders Mandi and Michael Leman have launched an online campaign on Indiegogo. They are counting on community support to raise funds to get the private social network fully developed.
Indiegogo is a “crowdfunding” website where entrepreneurs can raise seed money for innovative ideas. Visitors to Indiegogo can contribute as little as $5 or up to $25,000 or more, and are rewarded with perks. Engaged Campus has set its goal at $15,000, the minimum needed to fund the development of the college social network. The campaign runs until Monday, October 1, 2012.
