Teachers Notebook Seeks Sponsors for Their Back to School Event with the Virtual Teaching Expo

Freehold, NJ (PRWEB) August 13, 2012 Teachers Notebook, an online community for teachers to share educational innovation and inspiration, is pleased to announce their Back to School Event at the Virtual Teaching Expo, taking place on August 25, 2012. They invite education industry members to sponsor teachers through video ads to run during the presentations. The Back to School Event at the Virtual Teaching Expo will include pre-recorded presentations that cover a wide

range of pertinent topics, from “Reading Success “ (with Annie Moffatt from The Moffatt Girls) to “Creating a Fun Math Environment and Back to School Procedures” (with Yvonne Crawford of MixMinder) and “Classroom Decorating 101” (with Melanie Ralbusky of Schoolgirl Style); and from “Classroom Environment and Back to School Procedures” (with Eric and Brian of Wise Guys) to “Technology Tools” (with Cara Whitehead of Teaching…My Calling). By creating a virtual event, Teachers Notebook has successfully facilitated the sharing of tips and tricks from teachers around the world in a way that is convenient to both presenters and attendees. Because events are pre-recorded, teachers who want to attend the expo are able to do so when it is convenient for them. They will also be able to attend where it is convenient since all of the video presentations will be accessible through the Virtual Teaching Expo website and can be viewed on computers and tablet devices. “The Virtual Teaching Expo is a great place to connect teachers from around the world to learn from a virtual education community,” enthuses Steve Esemplare, co-founder of Teachers Notebook. The Back to School Event’s goal is to create a video-based online event akin to its online community where teachers present ideas and techniques that their peers can learn and then immediately use in the classroom. In order to bring together as diverse a group as possible to the Virtual Teaching Expo, TeachersNotebook.com has launched a crowd-funding campaign through IndieGoGo. Teachers Notebook hopes to raise $5,000 so that the cost of participating in this professional development opportunity will be covered for 1,000 teachers As co-founder Debbie Esemplare notes, it is important for teachers to work together towards improving the nation’s education system: “You

With school budgets being cut across the country, a lot of teachers are left to fend for themselves in order to obtain professional development.” The Back to School Event is encouraging interested parties to support teachers through sponsorship. Sponsorship of the event includes a 30second or minute-long video promotion that will play during the presentations. Teachers and other attendees interested in offering another educator a leg up can also make donations through the IndieGoGo site. For only $10, the donator will receive a ticket to the event, and two tickets will be given away to randomly selected educators on August 24 in an event sweepstakes. The more teachers who contribute, the more tickets will be offered as prizes from TeachersNotebook.com.
