Last week a Mayo Clinic physician described the strategy behind the hospital’s new Mall of America retail location calling it a laboratory to provide crowdsourced ideas that can help inform the creation of a permanent facility focused on health and wellness.
Now that “Create Your Mayo Clinic Health Experience” has formally launched to the public, the initial task will be in communicating to the public what the store is all about. What appeared to be a mother and daughter walked in confidently, stoppedand walked right back out. Others who strayed in during the lunch hour were immediately attended to by the so-called “healthcare experience navigator.” And there was evidence that some of the tech tools inside the store would capture a young person’s attention – two children who briefly played with the augmented reality kiosks before leaving with presumably their mother.
