Summary
The Brooklyn Brainery is so not your average club or hodgepodge of community classes.
The New York-based idea-space, founded by three New-Yorkers who were "tired of paying too much to take classes around NYC," hosts cheap adult classes on anything (and everything) taught by community professionals, hobbyists, and creative volunteers.
Description
The Brooklyn Brainery's topics are crowd-suggested and teacher driven; upcoming classes include soda making, foreign alphabets, cocktail alchemy, surviving in post-apocalyptic New York, reupholstering, low-tech screenprinting, design for non-designers.
The Brainery is also home to the Society for the Advancement of Social Studies, whose tagline, "All the history you knew but forgot, and all the booze you need to forget it again" is definitely something we could get behind.
