Top 10 Crowdfunding Platforms

document Crowdfunding
Summary
Whether he knew it or not, President Obama created a brand new industry when he signed the JOBS act into law on April 5th. Up until now, it’s been illegal for private businesses to offer equity to anyone other than accredited investors in exchange for funding. As a result, crowdfunding sites (like Kickstarter and IndieGoGo) and the investment seekers that use them have been restricted to giving gimmicky thank you gifts and pre-selling new products in exchange for donations.
Description
To help you keep track of all the happenings in this space, this article provides an overview of ten existing platforms that may be getting into the equity game, as well as the status of the newcomers that have been popping up daily. These 10 platforms are as follows:

Kickstarter;

IndieGoGo;

Fundable;

Crowdfunder;

EarlyShares;

SeedInvest;

GetFunded;

RelayFunder;

WeFunder; and

CrowdCube.

    We all know that egregious usage in the form of front page Wall Street journal ads or spamming or the like will be the regulators comments. Why are we still waiting to kick start this industry when Europe has been very successful over the last 2 years doing the same? I predict no more or less fraud from this industry. Yet, I see billions raised. The key to this success is that Pres. Obama's advisers were told from the start that this industry was not stepping on broker/dealers toes. The BD's have no interest in doing less than one million dollar raises at 2000 per shareholder. How long will the regulators take beyond the 90 day comment period? I urge all to communicate with them on their websites to comment now and kick start this industry already.
