Try-On Eyewear is what is called a GWAP, a Game With A Purpose. This means that the more you play, the more points and levels you win, but you also contribute to a higher cause. Our cause is helping eyeglass wearers find glasses that fit them aesthetically. Ever walked into an optical store or an eyewear boutique and asked the staff to help you find a pair of glasses that work for you? Those of you who have are likely to have experienced the same as I - opticians are not frame fitting experts. They are very good at determining the right prescription for you, but when it comes to choosing frames, you're on your own. At best, they'll tell you which are the more popular brands, but as one size of shoe can't fit everyone, nor will individual frames complement every person who needs to buy a new pair of glasses. Our solution? Crowdsourcing! We have reason to believe that if you ask a large enough number of people to vote eyeglass frames for a given face, all combined votes will approximate the opinion of an expert in frame fitting.
