Vancouver startup Weeve set to disrupt non-profit fundraising

Summary Newly announced GrowLab’s farm team member Weeve connects donors to registered charities in their communities, utilizing a number of handy tools including social media and fund tracking. Based upon the concept of crowdfunding, Weeve’s platform connects interested donors directly with Weeve approved non-profit charities in need of their generous donations. Unlike other charitable crowdfunding platforms like FundRazr ( 5% of your donation goes to FundRazr), the talented team at Weeve takes zilch.

Description Weeve already has a number of ongoing projects under their belts. The BC Children’s Hospital Foundation is giving the Weeve platform a try with an initial fundraising attempt of $5000 towards their Campaign for BC Children. Seva Canada is using the Weeve platform in their attempt to raise funds for eye testing for Cambodian orphans. Both Vancouver’s Shark Truth Society and YouthCO are also tapping into socially conscious donors by opting to use Weeve to raise funds for their projects. As word spreads of the Weeve platform, interested fundraisers and donors are expected to connect on an increasing basis.
