WePay, the easiest way to accept payments online, is celebrating the first birthday of its payments API. With lower pricing and the ability for partners to completely control the checkout experience, adoption of the API will continue to accelerate.
New API features include:
-Lower Pricing-Now just 2.9% + $.30 (formerly 3.5%).No set up,monthly or hidden fees.
-Tokenization-Partners can use their own payment forms and completely control the payment experience --no iFrames or redirects-while also reducing the scope of their PCI compliance.
-Easy Integration-A series of new tutorials for step-by-step integration allow developers to integrate WePay quickly and with minimal effort.
"We built the WePay API in the same spirit as we built our consumer-facing tools, which make it super easy for small businesses and individuals to start accepting payments online,"said Bill Clerico, WePay CEO and co-founder. "Our API now allows third-party platforms to integrate WePay payment services into their applications, so that their users can start accepting payments just as easily.Shopping cart providers, website builders, and crowdfunding platforms, for example, can create accounts and facilitate payments for their users through our API."
Over 1000 applications have been created on the existing API. Some examples include:
-GoFundMe-donations platform for individuals.
-Fundable-crowdfunding for startups.
