Summary
Today begins the 19th International AIDS Conference in Washington, D.C., the largest international gathering on a health-related issue, coming to Melbourne in 2014. The International AIDS Conference is expecting over 25,000 delegates, with over 40,000 expected to join in the conference activities.
Description
This year the YouthForce has crowdsourced a ‘Declaration for Change’, where young people from across the world (over 90 different countries) participated in an online platform to select and refine the ideas that they think will best allow us to achieve an AIDS-free generation.
“With over 131 people contributing, including casting over 6,000 votes over the 3-day period, the Declaration for Change has united young people, both attending the conference and outside, to work together for global good,” says Australian medical student Hugh Stephens, Media and Advocacy chair for the Washington, D.C. YouthForce.
