A Wikileaks Party & 2012 in Crowdsourcing and Crowdfunding - The Crowded Room Podcast

Wikileaks' Julian Assange could be running for office, and a lawsuit against Crowdflower could reshape the crowdsourcing industry. All that, plus the year in crowdsourcing and crowdfunding reviewed in this final episode of the Crowded Room podcast for 2012.

Julian Assange has an excellent chance of winning an Australian Senate seat. Unlike the US where each state elects 2 senators, in Australia each state elects 6 senators at each election. Voting is also preferencial, so minor parties can 'give' their votes to others. Last election in Victoria a tiny party (the DLP Democratic Labor Party) won only 2.3% of the vote, but scooped up other small party votes so won. I predict Julian Assange's Wikileaks party could easily do this too.
