I spoke with attorney Douglas Ellenoff, our contributing expert on crowdfunding and the JOBS Act, shortly after the one year anniversarry of the signing of the JOBS Act in April 2012.
Ellenoff spoke at a Silicon Valley crowdfunding conference on the first birthday of the law, which calls for an equity crowdfunding system in the United States, and he continues to encourage patience as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) works to develop a regulatory framework for the new industry.
This is the latest in our series of ongoing conversations on how equity crowdfunding will take shape, and Ellenoff also discusses the recent no-action letters from the SEC to two crowdfunding platforms for accredited investors, as well as the confirmation of Mary Jo White as SEC chair.
Listen below to hear all of Ellenoff's thoughts on the topics above, as well as crowdfunding happenings on the state level and elsewhere.
