Recently, I visited Local Motors' micro-factory in Arizona to see first-hand how the company uses its unique community (30,000 strong), platform and business model to co-create niche vehicles for worldwide brands like BMW.
While there, I sat down with CEO and Co-Founder John "Jay" Rogers just off the production floor for a wide-ranging discussion about the Local Motors' co-creation process, the future and potential for crowdsourcing.
Watch below for part one of that conversation below where Rogers talks about the Local Motors community and breaking into one of the world's most notoriously insular industries. Then help continue the discussion by posting your thoughts and questions in the comments at the bottom of the post.
