Open InnovationThe Canadian crowd engagement platform Ideavibes, has announced this weekend the launch of its Latin America operation. Ideavibes has jointed with Expansion Bridge Mexico, a company specialized in hiring talent in Mexico, to support its entrance into the region. The first result of this agreement can be see in its new website for Spanish speakers, whose url is a Spanish translation for ideas vibe: ideas que vibran.
According to the company, Expansion Bridge will focus on capacity building in the area of engagement and open innovation for governments and corporations throughout Mexico and Latin America. “We have seen an increasing demand in Latin America from both companies and governments, looking for an engagement platform that focuses on innovation and engagement and is tightly integrated with popular social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook”, said Paul Dombowsky, Founder and CEO of Ideavibes. “Ideavibes is well positioned for growth in Latin America through this strong partner that understands the market and how best to capitalize on this growth.”

Combining technology and intelligence of the crowd, IBM managed to solve the major problem for digitizing the archives of the National Diet Library of Japan: the identification of more than 10,000 characters of the Japanese language. The prototype technology, created by IBM Research, allows full-text digitization of Japanese literature to be realized through expansive recognition of Japanese characters. and enabling users to collaboratively review and correct language characters, script and structure.
Aside from ensuring quality recognition of Japanese characters, IBM researchers aimed to optimize the amount of time needed to review and verify the accuracy of the digitized texts. By introducing unique collaborative tools via crowdsourcing, the technology allows many users to pour through the texts and make corrections at a much higher rate of productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the full-text digitization system is designed to promote future international collaborations and standardization of libraries around the world.

Cloud LaboruTest, the world's largest marketplace for software testing services, announced today two new features: it is expanding to offer security and localization testing services and also it has partnered with Veracode, provider of the world's only cloud-based application risk management platform.
According to the company the expansion of security and localization testing services will create the first end-to-end suite of testing services for web, desktop or mobile applications. uTest's services -- which previously included functional, usability and load testing -- now offer a single source for companies' testing needs across the entire software development lifecycle.
"After completing thousands of testing projects for our customers, uTest has evolved into a 'one stop shop' for real-world testing across the entire software development lifecycle," said uTest CEO, Doron Reuveni. "With our diverse community of testers, performance engineers, security auditors and usability experts, uTest is uniquely equipped to help our customers create apps their users love -- from the start of the product lifecycle up through their launch date."
