Hi, Sandip from Go Get Funding here :)
We've been making a ton of improvements to our site lately and one of the things we're now looking at is our payment method.
We thought it would be great to get the thoughts of the crowd on this one! We've also posted the question on our Facebook page and hopefully we'll get a few opinions:

Our site currently uses PayPal embed - that means on the checkout page, after users click the PayPal button, they'll see a lightbox popup PayPal popup where they complete their payment. Users don't have to leave our site. You can test this by checking out any project on our site (
http://gogetfunding.com).
The alternative and more traditional approach is to be taken to PayPal.com where you'll complete payment.
Each method has its pros and cons.
For example, with PayPal embed, there can sometimes be a delay of around 8 (or more!) seconds before the pop-up appears. The benefit is the integrated experience.
With the traditional approach (visiting PayPal.com), the negative is the disconnected experience. However, you're redirected quickly and you can see all information on a full page.
My question is, do you have a preference? If so, what do you prefer and why?
Looks like the data answered the question for us! We compared the two and had a lower cart abandonment rate when users were redirected to PayPal.com. We also found a few bugs in PayPal embed which we've raised with the technical team.
I hope that helps someone else if you're deciding which of the two to go with.
Sandip
