Description Named by Barron as one of the "Top 25 Best Global Philanthropists," the CrowdRise community started off in September 2009, when Edward Norton, Shauna Robertson and Robert and Jeffro Wolfe came up with a campaign to raise money for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust during the New York City Marathon. They've been getting funds since then so they've decided to take things to the next level and so the CrowdRise web platform was born.
